Santa Fe 3751 The Glory of Steam CD

Santa Fe's 3751 is one of the most beautifully restored operating steam locomotives in the country. This collection is the best of a series of all digital recordings made over a decade of rare excursions pulled by the 4-8-4 Northern locomotive. The deep mournful whistle, the steadily increasing barking of the exhaust, the clanking siderods on the 80-inch drivers as the locomotive rockets by in a blur of spinning metal is all part of this audio experience. This CD includes 25 recordings in a variety of locations in the rugged terrain between Bakersfield, Calif. and the rim of the Grand Canyon, Arizona, including steep grades, high speed pass-bys in the desert, in the cab and pacing alongside the engine. Approx. 73 minutes.
