The Buffalo Creek & Gauley RR-From Prototype to S-Scale Model RR
Andy Schools and a pal set out to record this very impressive 1962 vintage film depicting a day of history of this coal-hauling railroad in Clay County, WV with an interchange with the B&O Railroad. Through the early 1960’s, countless tons of coal was carried back to Dundon. Their main customer was the Elk River Coal & Lumber Company, 18.6 miles east at Widen, WV. The BC&G railroad had the rights to haul timber to its sawmill at Swandale. Lots of interesting viewing is sure to give you enjoyment. In addition to this DVD is of a Prototype to an S-Scale Model of Brook Stover’s layout with scratch built cars & buildings. His fascination inspired him to create a miniature version of the BC&G. His detail in the segment is so realistic; you will think you are seeing the real railroad in action. Also included a “cab ride” around the 44’ x 25’ layout via a miniature video camera. We hope you enjoy this one-hour program on a fascinating railroad!
